i am going to a meet next saturday, and invitational

rule" but of course, he couldn't explain it to me, so

I am about 99% sure that a six jump meet is where you have six jumps and you pick any hight to put the cross-bar and the person who gets the highest hight wins.

I have never been to an official meet like that, but I've been to an open meet like that. If you ask cdmilton, he prolly knows.

thats ok...I didn't think of it that way. I see what you mean. If I didn't do that meet I never would have known about it.

Both of those things sound logical, but if I had to choose off the top of my head it would be flights of 6, but who knows?

yeah i have never heard of this before either,
i know he was telling me to make sure i come
in around 10 which i do anyway because he
was like "i think the 6 jump rule is in effect, it's
something like no matter how many heights you
clear or miss, you only get 6 jumps" but with him
who knows because he never vaulted and is a
football coach who does track too lol...i was just
wondering if anyone had heard of it...i kinda
figured it was a BS thing...lol

Yeah, you're coach is right, 6 jump rule just means that the competition continues normally except that you are only allowed a total of six jumps. You get 3 jumps per height, but after you take your sixth you are done.

The six jump rule STINKS soooooooooo much! I hate it! It jips you out of some many jumps just because they want the meet to run faster! It should be completely eliminated...
