Sycamore High School built a new indoor recreation center, but the administration at Sycamore might be glad that Kaneland’s Kranz is a senior. If he had another year of high school left, they might just have to add on a retractable roof.
Nearly a year after finishing third in the state in the pole vault with a height of 15-6, Kranz cleared 16 feet to not only win the conference title by three feet, but also set a new Kaneland record in the process.

What a smart athlete! Although scoring high at his state meet, instead of getting overly excited, he critqued himself against other vaulters to find his weaknesses. He then took it upon himself to get better in that area, and it has paid off. I wish I had more, and saw more athletes with this type of determination and humility.
