thats so crazy, are you Steve Oury. but llike how many days does he vault and how many does he spend running. Honestly i think that spencer is like WOW, being able to get on the 14'9 190 is so crazy, have you clocked his 55 or 100 meters. oh yeah, is steve oury and coach only for arkansaw or does he give out sessions, cause im thinking that i really need some more speed badly! thanks

Steve Oury is the Boy's Head Track Coach at Bryant High School. My name is Morry Sanders and I'm an assistant track coach at Lake Hamilton High School. Steve will have to chime in and give you more info on Spencer's speed and strength training.
Steve Irwin and I run a pole vault training facility in Black Springs called Arkansas Vault Club. We work with kids from around the state, developing their vaulting skills here at our place.
As far as Spencer's speed, he's averaged 9.47 m/s on his last 6 strides with a pole in hand during these first 3 meets. His fastest, so far, is 9.72 m/s. Keep in mind these times are hand held with no digital speed trap, so I'm sure there's quite a margin for error. Those numbers are just for us to keep a journal of progression and make adjustments where necessary.

But yeah i was a strictly vaulting form and drill cocah, and i really like him, but as far as running i have never really tiemd myslef on the runway and i have spent to much time on sprinting, but i am in weight training and that has helped.

Well, Jordan had to borrow poles. H
It was great fun watching all of those guys jump in Reno, they did a great job!
Pretty sure he borrowed one from Pat Manson, am I correct?
