Of course with the National high school record being broken at GWI and Chase Shealy not breaking his PR, This meet was not quite as great. but Alot of people probably didn't know that Chase had not practiced more than 4 times in the last month because of a burn on his right arm. I saw the newspaper the next day after the meet. It said he had tried to light a bonfire in a 50 gallon Drum that had previously had gasoline in it. Of course that may not have been smart, but if he can comeback to 17' so quick i think that was pretty amazing. Also, he has the most wicked vault i ever saw. He put a good half a foot on 17'5" before he fell on it. Enough typing, Jackass is on.

His dad tells me that the runway was very slow and spongy. He also says that Chase was gripping at about 15'2" on his second smallest warmup pole.

If anyone wants to see the video, email me and I will forward it to you.

Yeah the runway was definatley slow and there was light swirling winds. I didnt know that he was on his warmup pole, it was 16'4". I also have a few jumps of his, 16'4". 17' and his closest jump to 17'5". I'll post them where i have posted all the other video clips i have, i just have to edit them and I need to download the program again.

Yes, a 14'7" 170. (18.0 flex). I got every inch out of that jump, I drifted to the left on that one.

It was a good jump. Why I asked is because after watching the jump (several times) I noticed that the pole was bending rather low (the big debate from a couple of weeks ago). It appears in your jump that your angle of attack on the pole is still a little low (this causes the bend to move down on the pole). Your plant looks good. You get too far away from your top hand in your swing (could have been cause by the drift). If you were to swing TO your top hand (like hanging upside down on a rope) you will get a better energy return from the pole. If you swing outside the top hand (away from midline) the pole does not "throw" you up it "throws" you up and around. Focus on gettin to your top hand and turning onto it not away from it and you will add at least 6 to 9 inches to your jump.

If you did not want a critique..........sorry, ignore this post. If this helps then...................good.
