Re: Crew

It is a club sport at my college and they only practice once a day for about two hours. I am more curious about how the strength training would translate over to pole vaulting.

Crew

I was wondering what peoples opinion about crew were at the college level for pole vault. Would being on a crew team be beneficial to pole vaulting? Would the strength training required be terrible for vaulting? Any ideas or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Pole vault workouts for 1 year

Re: figuring out the right poles

Well if you have pole A,B,C.D that you know you can jump on and D is one you ideally need to be on. Then don't start at A if you know that you will get in the pit on C. Start on the biggest pole that you are confident that you will get into the pit on. Make sure you get your steps during warmup, so ...

Re: Help on Getting Inverted

Your takeoff and bottom part of your swing looks pretty good. However, you are blocking out with your left arm. Collapsing your left arm once your feet get up and then dropping your shoulders will get you more inverted.

Teaching High School Vault

Track just started at my High School and next week field events will be allowed to practice. Since there is not a single coach at my school who could tell you how to hold a pole, myself and two other senior vaulters will be in charge of the program for the most part. This will be my 2nd year vaultin...
