Re: Rope Vaulting - Yay or Nay?
Haha i wouldnt do the jump from a platform version as if a hand slipped your screwed. But a run and jump movement is great to swing up and work on technique. We do that in our schools gymnastics area with mats down so just make sure its safe.

Re: Important pole changing question. HELP!
Ahah same exact size as me personally i use a 13' and 14' 130 pacer. I grip between 12 and 12 6 most the time so you could try that. I normally blow through the 13' so youll have to play around with it and see what works best for you.

Re: switching from Pacer to UCS
UCS generally are more stiff than Pacer's. Either Cap your pole or transfer your grip over and move up or down from there. I would reccomend transferring over since if you hit a good meet where your faster than other days you may start blowing through with your grip maxed then your kinda screwed so ...

Re: Rockback
Jeez such crazy long posts. Short Version Punch - Break is the term we use. When u take off bottom arm should be almost locked and you should "punch" with it (normally just push it for about the duration of a punch) the Break your bottom arm and swing up and get your feet to the pole the s...

Re: mystic pole too much bend?
My advice find a 13-6 or 14' stick of the same weight and bump your grip up a fist and standards in to about 21and you should fly over 11' 6" no problem. Personally i would aim to stay with pacer brand. The Spirits have a real stiff point lower down on the pole so its significantly harder to ju...

Re: Weighing vaulters....
The weight rule has been primarily put in for stupid coaches lol... There was a kid who was a TINY stick for that kid he would been the pole so the tip would end up about 2 feet away from the rest of it and then fly up... He ended up flying into the standards and it looked like he got clotheslined.....

Re: full vertical extension help
A good drill for you is a series we call 1, 2, 3, 4, 4 & 1/2, and 5. Start with your hand grip at about 10' (You will want to be able to jump with that grip without the pole bending but not be able to jump over the pole) and run from 3 lefts (assuming your right handed) and do the following for ...
