college vaulting advice

I'll be going to SUNY Binghamton this fall for pole vault, and want to know what are the most important things to be prepared for, expect, etc.. of college vaulting (binghamton is D1 so that might determine responses in some way) Thanks in advance for any repleis

my coach kept telling me too look back... but he is a distance coach, so it's forgiveable, thanks for the help, looking at my top hand will probly fix it.... why didnt i think of that?

i know what you mean, and my first thought was to check my steps because i figured i was stalling out from planting way under... but my steps were good, and i kept doing it( i take 6-8 lefts, usually 6) i mentioned that im alittle under because ive been doing that for years and ive gotten over 14 6 ...

Strange, strange problem.....

I've been having a very strange problem... my take off is alittle under, as it usually is, running alittle faster and jumping much better, but now when i do my swing up, I get stuck behind my top hand, so when i kick up, i hit my arm, kinda stall for a second, then let my pole fling me horizontally....

my worst runway experience was not a necersarrily bad runway.... it was just extrememly short. Indoor manley field house in syracuse, you couldnt take more then a six step, and that step was still disturbingly close to where the shot putters threw their stuff.... actually made it kind of interesting

i have the same sorta problem, i swing into a postion with my ankles and feet lined right up... how can i corredt that, it has become quite a bad habit, and it's made it quite difficult to clear 14' lately... if anyone knows of what i speak, and knows how to make it die, please help!!

i always try new poles at practice first... and fail... but then when i take them out at meets they somehow gain alot of flexibility and i can get on them pretty easily.... except my 145 15' carbon.
