I've always wondered why I have never seen any discussions on performance enhancing drugs and how it has affected the pole vault? If there is a thread on this discussion I apologize. I've always heard whispers from coaches of past and present elite vaulters who might have used HGH or steroids.

I have a high school boy who is holding at the highschool limit on 14'1 spirit poles(165,170,175). He feels like he cant swing up all the way on them, yet he is blowing through at the same time. Yeah it does look like you are looking at the bungee since you aren't fully inverted even though you have the pole speed to do it. I would throw the bungee up to 15+ and get the feeling of your shoulders coming all the way back.
