Re: Unique Mental Block
Hi pvbell, I'm sorry to hear you're having problems with running through from long run. I know exactly how you feel, and how frustrating that can be. I went through almost the exact same thing my senior year in college, and thought I'd reply in case the things we tried might be helpful for you. It's...

NCAA Championship Schedule?
Has anyone seen a schedule of events yet for the NCAA DI Champs in Eugene in June? I was thinking about heading out to watch the mens PV but haven't been able to find out what day it is.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Oly trials jump off rules?
Anyone know if they'll start a jump off to break a tie for third place if neither of the athletes has the "A"? At first thought, it seems they don't need to break ties for third place if the 3-person Oly team is set. But my hope would be yes, in case during the jump off the bar climbs to/a...

Re: West Regional
Why don't they jump to completion at this meet? Kind of a waste. I'd be upset if I missed some school, traveled a couple of days for a meet, was jumping good and felt great, and had to stop after making 5.15 or 5.20. All the other events (except probably HJ) go to completion, and athletes can push f...

Re: When to Rest
I have always felt that rest is the most important thing you can do--often more important than working out. Something that has worked very well for me has been a full week off every four weeks of training. During the week off, I'll go play frisbee with my friends, or go swimming, or maybe go for a l...

Re: THE PERFECT VAULT!
What's this 'add 10cm for COG' thing? In pole vault, as in high jump, it's well known that your center of gravity passes UNDERNEATH the bar as you pike/arch over it-
A 6.40 bar clearance would raise the actual center of gravity to 6.20 or 6.30.

Re: New to the Bay area
Hi,
The clubs Vault Chick recommended are good places to start. Stanford does not have any post-collegiate vaulters training there. The other person I can think of is Scott Slover in Los Gatos. I know he coaches a few women and a bunch of college/high school kids.

Spirit 16' 175 (20.0) for sale!
Hi everyone, I have a Spirit 16' 175lb pole for sale. The flex is 20.0, and it's in great shape. It's been there for a lot of fun meets, but now that I'm out of college I have to pay those entry fees somehow! Send me a message and we can talk details. $200 o.b.o. I would prefer not to ship. I'm in P...

Re: 15'1" 12.7 flex
Hi there,
We have a UCS 4.60 12.6 flex. The weight rating, while irrelevant at this point--all of us were WAY under--is '200', though the label is handwritten, so I'm guessing Spirit doesn't make 15' poles that stiff too often.
