Actually, after quite a bit of thought, I'm going to have to agree with Hopper. Spiritually speaking, I believe the training would be of an even higher quality at Oral Roberts than ACU. Add in Joe Dial and you should have an unbeatable combination though I haven't talked to Joe in a very long time n...

I realize A&M is a tremendous pull for you, (my Dad and little bro grad. from there) but ACU is an outstanding christian school and just happens to really get into the vault. Oral Roberts would be a close second IMHO. Still, I thoroughly understand your dilemma. Randy was a great vaulter and the...

I tried it several times at various stages of my vault 'career'. Never did I feel like it would help my plant height nor anything else. It wasn't for me. That said, I saw several vaulters over the years who's take off foot left the ground just before the pole tip hit the back of the box and they han...

technique

Tigervault, Remember, the vault is ONE movement from the start of the run, to landing in the pit. 1 movement. Just like a gymnastic move. Ok, first of all, get the book and read it as I'm sure it's excellent. In the mean time don't get down about your 'problems'. We all have or have had them at one time or another in our quest for a higher bar. Stop thinking of them as problems necessarily, they are symptoms of mental and/or physical ...

How deep is the pool you have access to? If it's 10ft or more you have room to use a short pole, 3 ft long or so. Use a water hose filled with water as a bar so that it is under water about a foot or so. Lay on the bottom upside down in your ideal vault position under the bar. This is slow mo vaulti...

I realize this is an old thread, but hey I just joined, ok? You can't argue with Earl's accomplishments, vaulting or coaching, can't get any better. But Coach Hood, Sr. was my coach for 3 years and he's as good as they come. He could push the right buttons for me when I needed it. Amazing stuff, tau...
