It's a port-a-pit only 4 yrs old, with port-a-pit standards(18'),box collar, and standard pads all blue. It has been used at River vault so some of you might have jumped on it. srtomasini@satx.rr.com

Re: Pole vault pit in my backyard??

I started with a wood runway. I now have a concrete runway covered with mondo, I think it's the best way to go. It's 4' wide 120' long and I made the expantion joints every 10' .

pit approvel

I just saw this today. I took pics and sent information to USATF. Can't wait to see what the response is. Our pit is a Porta Pit, base pads, box collar, and mondo runway. The set up came from Texas Pole Vault Round Up in 2005(BRAND NEW). It just happens to be in my backyard.

Safety should always be the first consideration. This is not a good idea ... The question is not if you get hurt using hay for a pit , it's when you get hurt how bad will the injury be. This is why any pole vaulting should always be supervised by a qualified coach. A qualified coach would not allow ...

The SI device simulates the swing up like nothing else I have ever seen.
ropes, bars, rings,etc... all help and should be used for strength. But if you want to work it like you use it the SI device is it. I have one and it works [/b]
