Re: Midmark question
32 would be 4 steps from takeoff..L..R...L..R...L The chart is 6 steps... L..R..L..R..L..R..L So a 32 four step at EB's is about a 43 six step on my chart.. A 5-6" stride and. TO at 10'? Ish.. Which means if your running correctly, without stretching, you could potentially be jumping 13 with a ...

for the chart on a six step check mark... if you get you mark six steps from takeoff close to the grip to "mid" mark you should be more confident in your run.
good luck

Re: DJs Midmark question
Approach runs on the track is the absolute way to perfect the approach.. Same with the long jump.. It has never made any sense to me that every jumper or jumps coach did not demand they have a perfect run! I won the NAIA indoor long jump BECAUSE I had the best run, that day for at least one jump!!! ...

Re: DJs Midmark question
Good morning First there's been a few misconception concerning the "Mid" chart... It's actually not a middle step... It's a mark 6 steps from takeoff... So if your run is 100 feet it does mean your 6 step should be 50 feet! The six step is related to the average speed (with good posture an...

Re: "Lead up" Drills
Leo--- The proper way to coach a beginning pole vaulter. Right up front… I see 90 % of our pole vault coaches ignoring or not even being aware of… Principal number one…????? Do you know what it is??? The first "principle" of pole vaulting is..getting the pole to vertical. AND Principle num...

Hey Bruce, We have known each other for quite a few years... I think we have discussed every and any issue... You have always been willing to listen, wither you agreed with the athlete or coach or not, you listened. You have always made every effort to make a better, safer pole... Always.. For you i...

Re: Jenn Suhr injured when pole breaks in practice
I don't know that it was a carbon... But I am very confident that how the pole was made is responsible for the break... Not the vaulter. Instead of automacticly laying it on the jumper the company needs to take a good hard look at how... Where the break occurred on the pole? The mandrel size, number...
