Re: Advice on rockback and moving up a pole.

Forget about form he needs a proper pole. He weighs 165 and is using poles rated at 155. Did everyone miss that?

Re: Pacer Poles (FX vs. older model)

I have a 14'6 pacer pole(the older model you mentioned) and I am currently using a 15 pacer fx(new model) they are the same weight rating of 175 however the older pacer is a lot stiffer and heavier. I find jumping with the fx to be a little easier.

Re: Need help about a pole change

why don't you get a 15'6? I'm also jumping on a 15 and I do have a 16 available to me but i'm having a hard time getting on it because of the huge jump in stiffness. I wish I had some stiffer 15's or some 15'6 poles. You don't want to be stuck with a 16 that you can't get on.

Re: Preferred pole brand for new jumpers

Any pole until they start getting a bend. Once they start bending the poles altius and skypoles are usually a lot easier to get into the mat with when compared to other brands with the same weight rating and length. This is beneficial when progressing to larger poles to build confidence and feel saf...

The next pole progressions I have are a 15'6 175 and a 16'1 180 but I want to clear 16 with that 15 footer before I try to get on a larger pole! Turns out at state i'll have t...

Re: Looking at buying Altuis poles?

Altius poles of the same weight rating and length are usually less stiff than other brands such as pacer fx and spirit. They are also a little heavier. Great for moving up to a big pole since they make it easier to penetrate.

Re: Severe Mental Block

Run through and have your coach mark your takeoff. If you are dead on you need to go for it. Don't think about it too much. If you can't do this then you can try what I did and that was get a stiff pole and straight vault from like three steps back. Keep moving up the pole and keep taking steps back...
